Corydon, a once in a lifetime dog, much like his sire, Jem. Corydon was the only male Rottweiler in breed history to achieve the AKC breed Champion and the Obedience Trial Champion title. He then went on, in true Phantom Wood Rottweiler fashion, to attain the Champion Tracker title and put that coveted "CT" before his name. To achieve 3 Championships was beyond all of our wildest dreams. Corydon had that incredible working drive and wonderful temperament that made it all possible, he was an extremely consistent worker and achieved the UDX (5 times!) without a problem. He attained the American Rottweiler Club Versatility Excellent Award and was in the Medallion Rottweiler Club Hall of Fame.
My deepest thanks go to Corydon's co-owner, Drew Randall, for being his best buddy and training him to his OTCH, to Carrie Randall for loving Corydon and being his "favorite girl", and to Holley Eldred for showing Corydon to his breed Championship and showing him as a Veteran. I was honored to put the CT on Corydon and be a part of his life in tracking and as his "grandma".
Corydon was an American Rottweiler Club Silver Sire, and will also be remembered in his many beautiful and talented offspring. We'll miss you Corydon, your sisters Catrina and Blaise are waiting for you at the bridge...
A few words from Drew and Carrie -
Corydon was a special dog to us in every way. He was the first Rottweiler to be a Breed Champion, Obedience Champion and Tracking Champion (and only the second dog of ANY breed). But his sparkling personality is what made him Corydon. He made friends everywhere he went, his butt wiggling and a smile on his face. We will miss him but never, ever forget him.
Carrie and I want to thank all of Corydon's special friends, including Holley Eldred who finished his breed championship, Sandy Ladwig without whose training I could never have earned his OTCH, and Karla Niessing who bred him, chose him for us, helped us every step of the way AND finished his Tracking Championship getting his VST on the first try. Thank you Karla for our "Jem". Drew and Carrie Randall
