How you can help CPS

These are just some of the ways you can help CPS in our mission to help animals in need.  If you have a special talent you think we could use, let us know and we'll be happy to help you find the best way to put your efforts to good use.  If you don't have time to help, but still want to support the efforts of CPS, check out all the programs on our support page.  You can help animals from your own home doing things you're already doing every day!

Volunteer
- We can always use extra hands walking dogs, cleaning up messes, taking digital pictures for our web site, and talking to potential adopters at our Saturday events. We also hold special events periodically throughout the year and extra volunteers are always appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering, please send us an email, or give us a call and let us know. You may also come to an Adopt-a-Pet event and tell one of us that you're interested in helping out.

Spread the Word - It sounds like such a small thing, but if you tell even just two people about CPS and they tell two other people and so on, word will spread like wildfire, and the more people who know about us, the more people and pets we can help! So, if you know of someone looking for a pet, tell them about us! Do you know of a business that would let you put a flier up about our available animals? Email us and we'd be happy to send you a flier you can print and hang up. Do you have a web site? Add a link to our site so more people can see our animals. If you'd like, we can provide the code for a "pet scroller" that you can put on your web page that shows all of our adopted animals. It's linked to petfinder, so it updates itself automatically when we add or remove our pets. Do you own or work at a pet-related business? We would be happy to give you some small fliers to hand out to interested clients who are looking to add to their furry family.

Spay and Neuter Your Pets - This is the only way for us to realize our ultimate dream of having no animals left to help.  Spaying and neutering is the only way to control pet overpopulation and reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community.  If you have a pet, please have it spayed or neutered.  We have information on low-cost spay/neuter clinics in Charlotte and Concord.  Ask us for more information.

Foster a Dog or Cat in need - We don't have our own facility to house our animals, so without foster homes, there's nowhere for the animals to go! If you have the time and space to add another dog or cat to your family temporarily, we'd love to hear from you!  Check out our foster page for more information about who foster parents are and what they do.

Donations - Saving all our animals takes a lot of money. Supplies and monetary donations are always appreciated. Check out our wish list to see some of the things we're looking for.  We are a non-profit group, so all donations are tax-deductible. We accept donations by mail, in person at Adopt-a-Pet events, or via PayPal. Any donations received go straight to the care of our animals, whether through vaccines and vet care, food, or electricity to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter at our adoption events. We also accept donations of pet products.  Check out our support page for information about our many fundraising programs.
